Who is Jehovah

In this world we do find that there are many people who are very confused about the Biblical characters Yehowah - Yehovah or Jehovah and Yehoshua / Yehashua - Yeshua - Jeshua or Issous - Iesus - Jesus.

Concerning the Y in the name it is a matter of which language you want to use and to which spelling you want to keep, to the Hebrew language, Old English or contemporary spelling.

We do prefer the contemporary spelling how the names are written today in most  languages, be it English, Dutch, French or an other language. Ass such we do not write Yehowah or Yeshua but write Jehovah and Jesus.

Both those two names belong to two different characters, one being the Name of the Most Holy divine God of gods (Jehovah) and the other to the son of man who also is the son of God, Jeshua or Jesus Christ, the Messiah.

Jehovah is a God who can not be seen by man (Ex 33:22) though He created man in His image (Gen 1:26). He does not like to have graven images of Him, so man has not to make any graven or carved image of Him. (Ex 20:4)

Jehovah God is the Divine Creator or Maker of everything. ((Gen 1:1,27; Ec 12:1; Is 40:28) He created the earth and its living beings with a purpose. He also wanted mankind to know  that He alone is the Most High all over the earth and that people should not misuse His set-apart or holy Name, which is Jehovah (Isa 42:8; Ex 6:2,3; Ex 20:7; Ps 83:18;)

From the onset of creation He showed that He cares about us. He wants us to enjoy life. Because the first man rebelled against Him He gave the world in the hands of man. We can see how man made a mess of everything. But the loving God shall not let everything go wrong. Soon He will eliminate suffering and those who cause it. Meanwhile, He has good reason to allow suffering for a limited time.

Religious leaders sometimes make people believe that God is cruel and even created an eternal torture place for them. When something terrible happens, they say that it's God's will. They say that he wanted it to happen. When they say this, they are really blaming God and misusing God's Name. But the Bible teaches that God is never the source of evil. James 1:13 tells us that God does not test anyone with evil things. It says:

"When under trial, let no one say:

'I am being tried [or, tested] by God.'

For with evil things God cannot be tried, nor does he himself try anyone."

This means that even though God hasn't stopped bad things from happening, He never makes them happen. (Read Job 34:10-12.)

There is a very good reason why God has not yet stopped bad things from happening.It is because man has still the right to govern the world himself. Man has created many problems themselves and often they are not able to use many problems which found their cause in actions of other people.

Mankind better would come to see and believe that Jehovah is the only One who can solve all problems and terminate suffering. (Isaiah 33:2)

Everything Jehovah does is pure, clean, and good. So we can trust Him Who has more Power than any person. The Power of Jehovah God is unlimited. He can and will repair all the damage that has been done by bad people. Mankind should also come to know that He will remove all evil forever.

Love is Jehovah's principal quality; it is the essence of Jehovah God. At 1 John 4:8, we read that

'God is love.'"

"Jehovah, Jehovah, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abundant in loving-kindness and truth, preserving loving-kindness for thousands, pardoning error and transgression and sin." (Exodus 34:6, 7)

"I, Jehovah, am loving justice, hating robbery along with unrighteousness." (Isaiah 61:8)

Jehovah has many other fine qualities besides love and justice, and these further qualities are all described in the Book of books, the Bible. In that assembly of ancient scriptures people can find out more about Who God is and (very importantly) what He wants from us.

In the original manuscripts of the Bible, people can find the divine name of the Most High God written in four Hebrew letters (יהוה). This Tetragram or four-letter-word occurs nearly 7,000 times in the Hebrew portion of the Bible. This name is considered to be the causative form of the Hebrew verb ha·wahʹ ("to become") and thus means "He Causes to Become." In other words, Jehovah wisely causes Himself to become whatever He needs to be in order to accomplish His purposes.

The One Who says that He is Who is the Being, or

"I am that I am"

becomes Creator, Judge, Savior, Sustainer of life, and so forth, in order to fulfill His promises.
What is more, the Hebrew verb takes the grammatical form that denotes an action in the process of being fulfilled. This indicates that Jehovah is still causing Himself to become the Fulfiller of His promises. Yes, He is a living God!

As the God of justice, He does not forever tolerate brazen sinners who continue in their wickedness. Thus, we can be sure that in His due time, Jehovah will correct injustice in the world around us.

Maintaining perfect balance between the qualities of love and justice calls for wisdom. Jehovah balances these two qualities in a wonderful way when He deals with us. (Romans 11:33-36) Of course, His wisdom can be seen everywhere. The wonders of nature testify to it. (Psalm 104:24; Proverbs 3:19).

He expresses His hope that mankind shall come to know Him and shall return their path to Him, coming closer to Him as His children.
Jehovah "did not create [the earth] simply for nothing" but "formed it even to be inhabited" by humans who have a meaningful relationship with Him. (Isaiah 45:18; Genesis 1:28)

Jehovah wants everybody to know that He is the Only One True God, Who can react to their wishes and prayers and Who cares about His earthly creatures.
He gave mankind a perfect start in a garden like home, a paradise. Humans, for their part, are ruining it, much to Jehovah's displeasure. Yet, true to what His name indicates, Jehovah will bring His original purpose for mankind and the earth to its completion. (Psalm 115:16; Revelation 11:18) He will restore Paradise on earth for those who are willing to obey Him as his children (Proverbs 8:17; Matthew 5:5).

Jehovah is also the God of Jeshua, the son of man who was declared by Jehovah to be His only begotten son (Luke 1: 30-35; 3:21-23). That sent one from God was given to mankind to show the way to God and to bring salvation over man, making an end to the curse of death which had become over man by the rebellion against Jehovah (at the beginning of times).

Real lovers of Jehovah God, should make His Name known all over the world. They also should follow the tasks Jeshua had given to his followers, namely to show the world the path to God His Kingdom. Jeshuaists, as followers of Jeshua follow up that task given by their master teacher and as such witness for Jehovah and for His son Jeshua, bringing all over the world the Good News of the coming Kingdom of God.
